Aydan Iyigüngör is Programme Manager in the ‘Communication and Outreach’ department at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA).

Her areas of expertise with respect to the FRA’s work include: Fundamental Rights training, Holocaust education, police, border management, media and diversity and hate crime.

Since 2014 she works on setting up a Working Party on Hate Crime with EU Member States’ experts.

Aydan Iyigüngör has 11 years of experience in democratization and participation, governance and institution building in the field of justice and home affairs, minority rights, human rights education and training. She previously worked for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation (OSCE), the EU in the enlargement context and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey and the EU.

She holds a MA degree in Political Science.

She is currently chairing the Frontex Consultative Forum – a body composed of NGOs, international organisations and EU agencies to provide advice on Fundamental Rights to Frontex.
