With the commitment to join skills and efforts against hate speech and hate crimes, I am pleased to invite you to the International Conference to be held in Madrid on 27 November, with the aim of generating mechanisms to enable civil society organizations participate in the design, creation and promotion of policies on security and justice.

This international meeting titled “Together against speech and hate crimes – Innovative Partnership Initiatives between governments, civil society and international organizations” is framed under the “Active Citizenship Program” which dedicates 4,6 million € to projects that aim to promote human rights, active citizenship, democratic engagement, social justice and sustainable development .

The Conference, where we would like to have your presence, has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Social Action NGOs Platform with the Norwegian Embassy in Spain, the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 (EEA Grants) and the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.

The objectives of this meeting are: to stimulate the debate on how to enhance partnerships between governments, civil society and international organizations; make proposals on how to strengthen collaboration and finally, showcase current and past partnership experiences, sharing knowledge on key aspects that could be transferable to other initiatives.

As it is expected, the Conference will bring together high-level representatives of international civil society organizations and NGOs across Europe, as well as Spanish government representatives and NGOs all active in combating hate speech and hate crime.
