Peter Wittschorek has been working in ODIHR’s Tolerance and Non-Discrimination department in the position of the Adviser on Civil Society Relations since March 2013. He is providing advice and analysis on issues related to civil society relations, and supporting NGOs and other groups or communities in building their capacities for advocacy, to address and monitor hate crimes, and to assist hate crime victims. Staying in close contact with civil society representatives from all over the OSCE region, he is particularly engaging with those submitting data for the OSCE Hate Crime Reporting Website http://hatecrime.osce.org. Before, Peter worked with civil society in the areas of human rights and active citizenship education with a regional focus on Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe in various positions for more than 10 years. He studied political sciences in Germany and Italy and worked at the Center for European Integration Studies in 1997-2001.
